But it also shows that only 12 per cent of adults know the facts of the Christmas story in any detail. So if we Christians really want to keep Christmas focused on Christ, we must constantly re-tell the story of his birth in ways which engage positively with the public's interest.

This post is Copyright Andrew Kelsall, also author of the Andrew Kelsall Graphic Design Blog.Pure Christian Graphic Design - Christian Graphic Design Blog from Andrew Kelsall

<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-915" title="Christmas starts with Christ. But it also shows that only 12 per cent of adults know the facts of the Christmas story in any detail.

So if we Christians really want to keep Christmas focused on Christ, we must constantly re-tell the story of his birth in ways which engage positively with the public’s interest.

In the 21st century, proud parents-to-be proudly announce the coming birth by showing friends and family the scan of the baby. Our new Baby Scan Jesus poster (pictured left) uses this convention to place the birth of Christ in an ultra-contemporary context.

It is highly impactful. It has a sense of immediacy. It creates anticipation. And theologically it speaks of both the humanity and divinity of Jesus Christ.

You can read more about this design over at ChurchAds.net.

What do you think about this design? Do you think it helped to spread the Christian message? Are you a Christian and liked the design? Adversely, are you from another religion and you are offended by it? Id like to hear your opinions in the comment section below…

Do You want to know more about Jesus Christ?

If you heard the name of Jesus but have little or no idea about Him, then this is the time to look into who He was, what He did for us and who He still is today! If you want to know more about Christianity and why we believe what the Bible says about Jesus Christ, then I recommend reading His Word, the Bible, today. Here is a couple of resources to get you started:

Bible Gateway

Bible Gateway (Online Bible). I recommend the following translations: ESV (English Standard Version), NASB (New American Standard Bible), KJV (King James Version) and NKJV (New King James Version). There are also many other versions of the Bible Gateway site, even ones in different languages, too! A word of note, though, the NWT “version of the Bible” is not a valid translation and thankfully, does not appear the site.

Got Questions

Got Questions is a question and answer resource about subjects in the Bible. Very handy!

Here are a few good pages from their site:

• Questions about Jesus

• Questions about Christianity

• Questions about the Bible

If you have any questions about Jesus or Christianity in general, please feel free to ask or make a comment below

PS, the image above is a New-Year-themed adaptation of my downloadable poster and desktop wallpaper: John 3:16. Please feel free to download or share it online. Spread the message!

This post is Copyright Andrew Kelsall, also author of the Andrew Kelsall Graphic Design Blog.Pure Christian Graphic Design - Christian Graphic Design Blog from Andrew Kelsall

Controversial “We Hate Church” Billboard Design

Advertising

billboards

church

GrapeVine Celebration

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of going to the UK's annual Christian-based GrapeVine Celebration. Bishop Tony Miller of the Cathedral Church in Oklahoma City was there preaching in the evening. Our desire isn’t to offend anybody, but to do what it did – to say what it is about church that upset or offends you.” Bishop Tony Miller says he said it in a sermon and the church marketing department devised a plan to get peoples’ attention… And ultimately get them in church doors to change their minds.

Miller said, “We’ll take the risk in order to awaken people to the thoughts of something different is possible. Ron stated:

I was just about to board and there it was staring me in the face. My first reaction was horror.
