What does Heaven look like? This is a question that many of us have asked ourselves or others at some point. There are plenty of descriptions in the Bible describing Heaven, but it is up to our own imaginations to create the imagery on paper, canvas or computer.
Here is a selection of images I found on the web relating to Heaven (the Christian interpretation of it). There are some illustrations showing a general view of the interior of the great city, to the outer-wall and the Throne of God…
PLEASE NOTE: These are NOT my images. I’ve linked to the original sources underneath the images. You can click the images for fuller more details.
So, What does Heaven look like?
Here’s an illustration I found of the Golden City of Heaven. Those lions look a little angry, but its a sure inspiring image of Heaven:
The next illustration tries to capture part of heaven on a road, although the Bible states the New Jerusalem will be gold. Its great inspiration, though:
If you know of any other images of Heaven online, please leave a comment and let me know. I may add it here, creating a large collection of images of what Heaven looks like…

these are cool, won’t it be nice there, all peace and sanity! I just look at pictures of ocean fish sometimes and have to catch my breath- over one little fish from God’s handiwork ..lol
I am with you, I get so excited. But I also read about people who were shown hell and I jape there is more time for some other people who would not go to heaven if we were taken now I do get tired of this hurtful place. God bless yo if you are still around, Nancy
@nani → Firstly, do not blaspheme the name of the LORD on my site:
Exodus 20:7 | “You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
Secondly, these are not my pieces of work. Please read the article before mindlessly and sinfully writing a blasphemous comment. However, please do comment in the future if you are prepared to contribute to the discussion in a meaningful manner. AK
My 9 yr old son was upset 2nite and said he never wants me to die. I so I showed him these pictures of what heaven was. He thinks its a beautiful place! I also told him that’s where I will be waiting for him when he passes. He felt a lot better knowing that heaven is where we go when we pass away. He is going to draw his own picture 2morrow
Hi Andrew, Are you familiar with the works of the Victorian artist John Martin?
Here is a link to “the Plains of Heaven”. Its an enormous painting one really needs to stand in front of it to get the full impact. Even I love it and I’m an atheist! He has also done an equally impressive “Last Judgement” and others biblical themes. Check them out.
Breathtakingly beautiful!!! Jesus was a carpenter on earth, so it does not surprise me that heaven will be spectacular. The art is so captivating and the colors are so intensely vivid with life. Thank-you for sharing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cant wait to get there. plain and simple. Now, i am not going to off myself, but dont you know how people say, “He woke me up this morning….” Well, if he decides to take a sis on a trip with HIM, then….I think i’ll live….
Well, I think that we all know what heaven looks like, deep down inside, even those who don’t believe in god know what it looks like. For me it is a lush green valley with lots of trees of all different kinds, with huge big snowy mountains bigger than everest.nice White sandy beaches and clear bright blue sea. Everyone that I love is there, along with all my missed relatives. That is what I think heaven looks like
This is very significant to me and brought tears to my eyes. My beloved wife went to the Lord December 18th, 2009. These illustrations are so beautiful, and what I would imagine Heaven to look like. I long to be there with her and Jesus.
I’m scared on how I’m gonna die but living in the afterlife going home to my lord and savor I can’t wait everything will be so much better than this world, this world has to much violence people act like they don’t care for one another the earth is nasty. Heaven will be beautiful and filled with so much love. Death is just the beginning.
i love the pics, and i canot wait until the lord comes back! as a normal christian i have done wrong, and i have repented.. but the only thing i am worried about is me controlling my anger problems. but i am learning to controll it. as a 13 year old i love the Lord with all my heart. I have felt the Lord when i was in disbelief back when i was young, and now God is showing me dreams like what he did to abraham and most of the powerful bible characters. my name is Elijah and if u could just send an email that will be greatly appreciated!
a dear sweet friend who has definitely inspired me in following Christ, passed recently. We only got updates from her daughter when she was dying in the hospital. But a few days prior to her death she talked about seeing heaven…the one thing that sticks out in my mind is that she stated that the grass was very green and beautiful. I saw this in one of the pics above. Simply amazing. I do believe. And have been very blessed because of it.
Heaven. For me is a place of pure beauty, but most of all full of Love, joy and peace for all. Now that sounds like a place I want to be. By Gods grace.
Heaven is individual to us all, just like our path on earth. Although once we pass through the gates our heaven awaits us, although the surroundings and people there to greet us me be different it still leads to gods love
I am so obsessed with the beauty of Heaven. I have been reading all that you have written on how it looks to you from your thoughts. I too, am scared of how I will die. I don’t want to hurt when I die. I am terrified of car accidents and getting burned up in one. So I have googled death types. Everyday I think about how my family is rejoicing together and singing in perfect tune and harmony. Oh what joy each of my dead family members received when they walked up to the Lord and he said well done my child, enter in. I know my family well. I can see them shout and wave their arms back and forth when they run up to the family who has gone on before. And oh what joy it will be to have your very own mansion. Where the lion will lay with the lamb. Blind will see and the deaf will hear. My nannie saids cry for the living and laugh for the dead. One should not cry cause their loved one has died. You should cry because you can’t go with them at the moment. But oh how I will see them again, when they gather by the river to welcome me home.
@ everyone who commented, my eyes just filled with tears knowing we will all meet in a beautiful place and that we all have the same vision , to honour God
Thanks everyone for your kind comments and opinions. Heaven is truly an amazing place, but the best part is that Christians will spend eternity there with the LORD Jesus, and never have to live with the stench of sin any more.
I think these pictures are absoloutely beautiful and I know in all my heart that heavan is where i belong after life, Lord Jesus is the best friend anyone can have and I am so thankful to know him… I believe there is a place up there for me and my family
Doesnt it says heaven will one day join the new earth in the bible therefore could it be that the heaven that we go to once we die is a temp place before the end of days when God will have a new heaven and earth? .-= passportcovers´s last blog ..Do Follow Blog, Comment Luv Keyword Luv =-.
Heaven is God’s abode, HE and His righteous angels, it’s surely a very beautiful place; it is beyond human intellect even to imagine its build-up( the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, human wisdom is God’s foolishness, 1Cor 1:25). We are free to speculate, one thing is true: these speculations are far from being accurate. Secondly, God’s abode is not meant for men. God’s original purpose for mankind is to live a healthy live eternally on a paradise earth ( Psalm 37:29). God’s purpose for man has not changed and will never change. Those who intend to go to heaven to enjoy its beauty are ignorant of the truth and only accurate knowledge can lead these to eternal live( John 17:3) Truly, some will partake of heavenly glory (Luke 12:32) but these are few and are going there for a particular purpose, then we have the great crowd, uncountable(John 10:16) number of people who will live forever on earth, where there will be no sickness, no pain, no death; the former things have passed away(Rev 21: 4). Wickedness will be eradicated, the opposer destroyed and God’s sovereinty vindicated.
I lost my sister 12 years ago in a horrible car accident. It still feels like it was just yesterday. The only thing that has kept me going is knowing I will see her again some day. To me, heaven is to live in the literal presence of the Lord. Nothing negative can exist there. Any pain, or confusion, or even loneliness will all drop away as we rise to meet the King. For those of you who fear how you will die, no need. I believe that the Lord sends angels to help. When you are in a horrible accident your body is designed to shut out the pain and memory. If you are hurt bad enough, it will be a little like being transported on Star Trek (yes, I know fiction) The idea is that as one world fades away the real world of heaven which is much more real than anything we have here will come into focus. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. it will be immediate. Everything on this earth is like being in an old poorly filmed video. The colors, the tastes, the smells the sounds, the emotional and spiritual fulfillment will be so vivid and more real than anything you have ever experienced. The happiest moment on earth will pale in comparison to each nano second you are in heaven. Every blade of grass, or flower will be so beautiful you will wonder how you can ever look at anything else. The overwhelming feelings of joy and peace will cause you to know instinctively that this is what you have always wanted and needed. My father preached the gospel for over 40 years. When cancer was clearly going to take him home to heaven, I asked him…. “pop, what do you think your mansion will be like?” He said “I hope it is a cabin by a trout pond.” The day before he died he was slipping in and out of a coma and as I got ready to leave, I leaned over and whispered in his ear “I love you Poppa” He opened his eyes and seeing my grief, he whispered “He is still on the throne.” What a gift to have him as a father. He died in November and that Christmas I wrote a poem called “He left so many things behind.” The first part I talked about how he was leaving us, his family, my mom, his rock collection, then I said “along with all the things he left, some make me want to sing. You see along with leaving us behind , he also left his pain, he left sickness, darkness grief and shame, yes he left all these things. They just fell away behind him has he rose to meet the King. The pain of seeing my sister lying broken in the car, couldn’t make the trip with him since it was just too far. Now his eyes see Jesus, the one he worshiped and adored. Full fellowship he’d sought so long has finally been restored. My sister Ruth was waiting there to greet him face to face. What a Christmas present for them both to finally again embrace. None of us really knows just when his chimes will ring. If you heard them call your name, would you rise to meet the King? You really have to listen to hear that still small voice, satan tries to drown it out because he knows it is your choice. Satan knows the time is drawing close, soon all of this will end. On that day before the Lord, his knees will finally bend. I long with everything I have to see you all up there. Where together we will worship the one who vanquished all despair. Though grief still grips my heart and mind, I’ve peace from just one thing. Some day with Pop and Ruth and all the others I will sing. Such beautiful music we will hear, I can hardly wait. I’ll look for you in heaven somewhere just beyond the gate.” For those of you who don’t believe in heaven or want to blame God for all of the horrible things mankind has brought on himself, if we are wrong and there is no heaven, then we have lived a life filled with more peace even in the middle of horrible storms. If you are wrong however and there is a Lord who loves you and wants nothing more than to keep you from eternal suffering, remember it is your choice. I dare you to pray about it. Jesus said that if you look for me you will find me.
@Janet → Thanks for sharing your testimony. I’m sorry for your loss. I especially like the very last sentence “Jesus said that if you look for me you will find me”.
This is so so true. The Bible states that whoever truly seeks God will find Him. I believe that the LORD would send out a missionary to the other side of the Globe if even one person in a remote place would seek His face.
oh i have tears in my eyes just reading so many of the comments , especially janets testimony, i do belive that heaven is beyond any persons imagination, it is beyond beautiful, almost magical, there are fields and fields of colorful flowers, waterfalls so tall, fruit trees with fresh fruit all day long, no darkness , the list goes on, we all know that God is a God of beauty and whatever he touches becomes instantly beautiful,God is so merciful that after us dissapointing him so much , he just will not let us perish, what a wonderful Lord we serve, i too have experienced a great deal of loss in my family, the latest person to pass is my aunt, whenever i thought of her i would feel pain and sorrow, but when i think of Jesus i feel so much joy, peace and comfort because i know this is what she is experiencing , she is now restored to her former beautiful self the way the Lord intended and so is the rest of my loved ones, Thank you Jesus for the mountain underneath our feet (*.*)
heaven is a place of inner peace…but many tried to get there at this very moment but many fail, there is a wide chasm that hard for us to pass caused by the SIN that we have done and ONLY JESUS CHRIST is our Way to get there..He has the key to the gates of Heaven.Just believe and accept him as your Savior and Lord and He will direct you to Eternity.
charming incantations / magic signs that protect against adverse influence / a magical spell / ’tis now the very witching time of night / wizard wands / wizardly powers

I just bring this matter up, as I feel many Christians use this, what I would deem “idol word” without a second thought. As we should be Christlike in the very words we use, may I please suggest not using this word. Of course this is my opinion, and I’m writing this out of love—and not intended to be in any way divisive.

i had a dream about heaven before…. and its a bit similar with two of the pictures….when dreamt about it. I ascended to heaven with an ark and i saw all the angels with flowing white robes, not only angel but I also saw an angel with lion’s head gaurding some kind of big greenish marble on top of a pillars. i wasnt sure but the walls are similar to the third picture above…and it was really packed with angels~ some are lining holding a bowl waiting to be serve with the content of the greenish marble. while i was there, i went to look around, and saw a golden throne and below it was a flowing water which looks like a falls connect to river. When i was stared at the throne, i could see someone sitting on it which i couldnt see the face. He was shining brightly with soft warm light sort of feeling. and went its time to go. I went back to the ark and descend to earth with a good feeling. I believe, i just saw a glimpes of heaven…. i carried that dream with me all through out the years…
Guy’s It took GOD six day’s to make the earth and Heavens. He rested on the 7th day. Look around! See the GODLY BEAUTY in it. Imagine – for 2000 plus years He is preparing Heaven for us, imagine what awaits us!!! WOW!!
hi im savannah im 10 years old .i was afraid to die and worried about 2012 but now i feel a lot better. i am a Christian and im happy to go to church and praise the lord. i love god and Jesus they are my savior. after i went on this website not scared any more. IM FREE
@Savannah → There’s no need to worry about 2012. The world isn’t going to end then, as the Bible tells us that before Jesus returns, various things have to happen (tribulation years) which hasn’t happened yet.
Just trust in Jesus. After all, He told us not to worry anyway
I’m glad you love God and His only Son, and at such a young age. Stay strong, pray…and don’t worry!!!
hello these images are beutiful so you no 1 day the people in heaven will be floating in the air and we will come up with them and then the people who are going to hell will stay on earth and then jesus will step on earth open his hand and the ppl who are left on earth will all fall to hell and we ppl who are going to heaven and the ppl who was alreddy inn heaven will come down and live our life over….SO DREAMY OH YEA WITH NO PROBLEMS!!!!!1
Just a few lines from a paper I’m writing in College Composition, enjoy. The brilliant radiance that stops the night, or imagine the gleaming warmth of daybreak just before the sun pierces through, here lies the flame of life. Being a witness, and feeling the warmth in a cool breeze, there is no pain in the presence of this eternal existence. I saw the barrier to heaven, already open, exposing a city on the horizon. This city sits solitary, and in its midst is a wall. This barrier was formed from precious crystals, with layers of red, yellow, and golden-brown. These semi-precious stones are translucent so that light is able to pass through them. These jasper walls radiate brilliant rays of dazzling color. To cross this threshold that surrounds this city are twelve large gates; the gates are twelve pearls, each separate gate being built from one solid pearl. At the gates stand twelve angels, each angel has a body, neither man nor woman. Transparent figures all robed in white, with their flowing hair and feathered wings which flow along the length of their bodies, shoulder to floor. Their hair is white like wool, as white as snow. Piercing colorless eye’s which by themselves show passion and strength. The shading of their white features is the same as their robes which covers their muscular frame. Each face of these twelve commands a majesty that the most gifted artist would find difficult to render. At every entrance an angel stands beneath a name, one name for twelve sons, and one son from the twelve tribes of Israel. Through this gate is eternity’s road, a road made from gold, and as pure and clear as glass. This is the New Jerusalem; a river will flow forever with the water of life, pure and clear, originating from the throne of God.
hi there, i really like how you have added these pictures, because my grandma passed not so long ago :’( God rest her soul, but i have always tried to picture heaven. I no that no matter what heaven looks like that it is a place of peace and harmony, it would be nice if the world was all like that. Although i have doubts i definatly believe that my grandma is now with my grampa and all my dearly missed friends and siblings. I miss her but looking at your pictures reasures me that she is in a happy, peaceful, resting place. Heaven… thankyou very much
I was searching on the yahoo engine with a key sentence “what heaven looks like” and have ended up with these beautiful pictures and inspiring comments. I do believe and have no doubt about the eternal life after the death. Praise the Lord!! The Holy Bible describes that the heaven’s beauty is beyond our description. It is great to see that people are even highly inspired by these pictures. But, remember that it is even more beautiful than what we see in the pictures. Hallelujah!! How awesome to live where Jesus lives!!! Where the Lord almighty lives….. with full of peace and joy… Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heaven is not only unique but a place only where true love exists. Lord Jesus, the holy sinless Son-of-God, our Saviour, is a doorman (not any doorman on planet earth) standing outside this ten-star hotel to welcome all sinners including me. To enter this heavenly gate, not only must be accept God’s salvation, we must confess and repent of all our sins and totally turn away from our sinful life, from darkness into his light, sounds simply but it takes alot to act on it. Our earthly clock is ticking, may stop any time, so act now. GOD HELP US OR WE ARE ALL DOOMED. SATAN WILL NEVER POSSESS SINGLE SOUL, I PRAY. LORD WE LOVE YOU EVEN THOUGH AT TIMES WE REALLY STRUGGLE, GOODNIGHT FATHER GOD, LORD JESUS, HOLY SPIRIT AND ANGELS, OUR DIVINE BUDDIES!
Thank you sir for posting these images. In a way they are inspiring to me. I am by no means a perfect person. I do believe Jesus paid the ultimate price in blood for our sins, and that if we trust and believe in him, and receive him as our savior, we can attain salvation. I know our time is coming very soon to stand before him. I have asked Jesus into my life, but I still sin. I want and need so badly to know him, but I know if I met him five minutes from now, I would not be worthy of his grace. I am trying so hard. How many times can a person ask for forgiveness before the holy spirit says “enough is enough?” I also read in scripture that people will be deceived and led astray. I haven’t chosen a religion on account of this. What if I take up a religion, and they are wrong? What if I don’t take up a faith and they turn out to be right? This scares me. Is it enough to believe and trust in him? I know I also have to live my life by his standards. I don’t want to go to hell, but I also don’t want to just have that relationship with him to keep from going. That is not right. I want that relationship with him because he is my ONLY true friend. I am worried because I keep on sinning. I want to be worthy of him. Any advice? I want to live right. Please respond soon. Tomorrow may not come, I just want to be ready. Thank you so much and god bless.
Michael → You say “I am by no means a perfect person”; welcome to the club. As long as we live on this earth before we meet Jesus, we will never be perfect. We will always fall. Thankfully, Jesus Died to save use from our sins.
It’s great that you so badly want to know him. I believe the true test to assess if Jesus has Saved you and you have received the Free Gift of Salvation is the indwelling of God’s Holy Spirit, evidenced by fruit that you bear.
If you are having problems with sin and an addiction for example, the key, again, is to be filled with the Holy Spirit. In my experience, Reading my Bible, listening to Christian Music, going to Church and, of course, Praying helps me to be filled with the Holy Spirit. I absolutely love and adore this scripture, and how true it is:
Psalm 119:11: I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. English Standard Version
As Christians, we are to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Without Him, we will always fail; always be defeated and will never reach our full potential in Christ.
I’ve been a Christian for over 2 decades now, and its taken me a long time to realise this simple way of thinking: The more you sin, the more you should seek God – not run from Him.
You asked “How many times can a person ask for forgiveness before the holy spirit says “enough is enough?”. In my opinion, if you’re a true Christian who has received Salvation, He will never leave you. However, true Christians will never want sin in their life and will always want it out of their lives. Be aware that God’s children are subject to His discipline, too.
You also asked: “What if I take up a religion, and they are wrong? What if I don’t take up a faith and they turn out to be right? This scares me. Is it enough to believe and trust in him?” There’s a great article here that should answer that question in detail.
I hope this information and linked article above help you out Michael. My advice to you is to truly seek God and read His Word. I recommend starting to read the Gospels, pray, and see where Jesus leads you. I hope this helps. I’ll pray for you
Thank you Mr. Kelsall. That was helpful. There is some literature I came across online I wanted to ask you about. Im not sure how familiar you are with it, but it is called “a divine revelation.” It is by ‘ary K. Baxter. It can be found by googling 40 nights in hell. What are your thoughts on this? I have an acquaintance that is telling me he believes God would never let someone go to hell. I believe God doesn’t want any of his children in hell…hence Jesus dying on the cross to save us from it. Is this something I should have him read? Another thing I wanted to ask you about is the apocalypse of St. Peter. Does this appear anywhere in the bible? I apologize for all of the questions, I just want to be educated about these things. Maybe I can get the message across to my friend. I don’t want to refer him to these messages if they are inaccurate.
Michael → Firstly, yes, I know exactly the book you are referring to. Stay away from it and get out your Bible instead.
Not only does this book promote an anti-Biblical fickle view of Salvation, it probably helps to steer more people away from God by making Jesus look like some kind of unsympathetic mass-torturer.
The people who do turn to God after reading it probably only do so out of frenzied fear, rather than love for our Lord and Saviour.
The real “jewel” in this book is written right near the back and states:
…for best results, read this book along with your Bible
There you have it. Despite a dire warning from the Apostle John in Revelation not to add to the words of scripture, here comes someone doing such that.
Please read this article for a comprehensive and damning review of the book in question.
As for your friend who told you that God would never let someone go to hell. The Bible says otherwise. Unfortunately, many people will go to hell, although, again, you need to search the scripture to find out more about it, not by (in my opinion) a false book.
Jesus and the prophets in the new Testament describe as hell as many things apart from fire, such as ‘outer darkness’ and ‘utter darkness’, not a room for so-called Christians “who died in nightclubs” like described in the 40 nights in hell book.
My best advice to you is stay away from anyone claiming to have “new revelations” about such matters. Read God’s Word, the Bible. The ones which include a study should help you.

The Apocalypse of Peter is not a reliable source of doctrine. Please read this article.
There’s no need to apologise for all of the questions. They’re welcome here
I just so happened to search ” what does heaven look like” and I came across this site. I have never claimed to know much about religion, or God for that matter, but I have always had a sense that there is something so powerful and wonderful that leads me through this world. I lost my father almost 10 years ago now (whitch feels like yesterday), and one of the things that brings me comfort is that HE BELIEVED AND KNEW that there was another world that waited for him. Knowing that, and seeing these breathtaking images, allows me to believe. Thank you for sharing these inspiring pictures!!!
Chris Tomlin has a great song “I will rise”. I would love to put the song to video. I am not sure how to go about this. Do you have any suggestions? At this point I have not found this music video. Appreciate any help..
Hello, I really love the work you do. My husband is an artist and dose alot of painting for our church plays (back grounds ect.) before he was saved he wanted to try to work for a comic company. I guess im writing you because he still wants to do that but for a different reason to tell others thru his art about his faith in Jesus christ. where can he start?
To Robin Murphy: Do you really think you could get away with it as you stand before God on judgement day ? If you can’t find it in your heart to change your mind, then you will spend eternity in forever lasting fire, where you will wish to have a cool drink to cool your tounge. There is only heaven or hell after death, you deside where you want to be now, it’s up to you and no one can decide that for you. Please search for your self and find the answer,as Jesus does not wish for any to parish, he will forgive you and still welcome you in to his kingdom.,if you ask him to forgive you.
There is really no excuse that you did not know him “Jesus” as I’m sure all here in the USA has for years and years that Jesus is coming and for all who accept him as Lord of thier life will be saved, just as it was in the days of NOAH so shall it be again but this time without water. Yes for years and years the people then must have said to Noah “Your a crazy old man for thinking it will rain for 40 days and nights! And we not get into your boat filled with dirty beast, and we will take our chances and climb up high in the mountains, so don’t bother to have room for me in your boat! And now we say the same “We have heard this for years that Jesus is comming and yet he has not come, so no hurry we will have a chance if he does. We will not dwell on this so much and because we do good we wont worry about being saved, he will save the good people on the earth! No-one knows when he is coming, only God the father knows that, even so too we don’t know when we will die? So it is best to keep Jesus in your heart always and while your here show others Christ within you in all you do, so others may want him too in thier hearts, to all live with him forever in this beautiful city in heaven, it is real. He said: “Where I am there you may be also” I go to prepare a place for you. Pray, then read the Bible and Jesus will let his self be known to you and you will find your treasures in heaven, where no man can steal, and rust can distroy, when you accept Jesus it’s like having a ticket to heaven where no one can take it from you.
The very top picture of Jesus standing beween the lions in front of the golden city is my very favorite. To me, it is a very spiritual and awe-inspiring picture. It is my very favorite.
God is good. Sometimes I fight back the tears when I think about him too. It just makes me so happy what he has done for us. And Jesus Christ, sometimes the tears are sad tears. He sacrificed himself to save us from sin.
Thanks for the article Bro. Not sure why, but in last few days I really had this question in my mind “What does Heavens look like?” and this article helped me to visualize Heavens (just a little bit)…
I also have another crazy thought.. to see Moses, David, Elijah etc in Heavens when I’m there
Heaven is a mystery to all of us here on Earth. I bet it’s too beautiful and peaceful to describe. It could be just light, it could be lush gardens, it could be anything really. God makes everything a mystery for us. We don’t just live on Earth for the sake of it. Before it’s our time to meet with God in the Heavens, we learn a lesson. Life is like a book, it could end good or very badly. But the thing is, most books don’t end until the lesson has been told… Praise the LORD for the life we have today and may the light shine on you all everyday. God bless.
I really wish God could give us atleast a sign to hint us what Heaven is like. But I guess not, for now, Heaven will remain a mystery for us people on Earth.
There is a hint of what Heaven is like - God's beautiful creation we see all around us. From the wonder of the Heavens, galaxies and stars - to the mountains and meadows on earth.
Just be assured that Heaven will be even MORE amazing; prepared for those who obey Him, serve Him and trust in Him.
Yes I am 11, I love God and the LORD. I give thanks to them for giving me my talents. I’m pretty sure my main talent is drawing, being able to see the world differently then others. Well atleast that’s what I think it is, a lot of people say I’m really good at drawing. I could even have a bigger talent that I have yet not discovered. Anyways I’m getting off topic here. I used to be afraid of death. Several of my family members have died within the last 3-4 years. One of my Nonna’s best friends died on 9-11-11 from a heart attack. I swear, she was like another Nonna to me. May she rest in peace and live the rest of her life in the Heavens. But ive been trying to learn more and more about Heaven. Like stated above, Heaven is like a mystery, no one has seen or heard of the Heavens on earth. One day, when Christ comes again, all of us believers will meet again in Heaven. I’m not afraid of death anymore, knowing that after death, is painfree and peaceful enternal life and present with the LORD. But I’ve noticed something. The ones who have passed are safe in heaven, not suffering. But the ones that are on earth are the ones suffering from nonbelievers, sinners, pain, just bad things in general. I forgot what verse this is from in the bible but it went something like this, “I would rather be absent from my body and be present with the Lord.” sometimes I wish I could just put an end to it all, we all have those times. No life is a waste. God doesn’t give you a place on earth for no reason, live life at it’s fullest.
I kinda feel guilty. I don’t remember the last time my family has gone to a Sunday Mass :/ I do go to catechism on Tuesday’s but that realign ain’t the same. Sundays and Saturdays are really busy. Well mostly everyday is is. Mondays: guitar soccer practice Tuesdays: karate catechism Wensdays: Karate Thursdays: Soccer Practice Fridays: soccer games karate Saturday’s: soccer games karate Sundays: soccer games And I have 3 sisters so thy makes the scedule even more cramped. What should I do? It’s not like we don’t go to church because we don’t want to, is it considered a Sin? I’m a catholic…
Thanks for your detailed comment. Firstly, I'd like to point you to 2 articles for further reading. In regards to "Heaven is like a mystery, no one has seen or heard of the Heavens on earth" - there's plenty of descriptions of Heaven in the Bible.
I typed in Heaven and all of these beautiful pictures came to me. This is so unbelievable, but I really believe this is what it looks like. My Grandaughter left here and went to see our Savior in 2003. She came to me one night and ask me to come and live with her in Heaven and I told her that I couldn’t now. She said Ninny I have my own room now and it is so beautiful. I just lost my beloved fur baby and I’m so lost without both of my babies. And I can’t wait to go home to be with them and the rest of my family that is there. Do you think that my little fur baby will be waiting in Heaven for me. Oh, I love my Lord and Savior so much and I talk to him all the time. Thank you so much for all this love.
I'm pleased that this post can inspire you;I'm sorry for your loss. For further reading about Heaven and babies, I'd like to refer you to the following articles:
I was laying in bed today, and started to remember a dream I had when i was about three years old. Though that was almost thriteen years ago, I still remeber it like I had it last night. I remember walking through this beautiful little village, something between a Thomas Kingkad painting (my grandmother has them everywhere in her house) and a little Vermont town. The streets where cobblestone, but it was a beautiful stone, and there were flowers, and gardens and trees all around. There were little cottages and shops tucked among the gardens, and swings, and slides and sandboxes for children to play in, and benches to sit on everywere. There were white, but weathered picket fences, and the grass was so green. But the thing i remeber most was the people. Women shopping (or trading), hanging laundry, cooking and just talking. Men working on roofs, walking with their wives and dogs and children. And the children. They were running all over the place, laughing and playing games. Everyone was happy there, never complaining, living in complete happiness and joy and enjoying one anothers company. Through the whole dream the sun was like how it is on a summers evening, right before it sets. Everyone was just so happy and there was no sadness, or wrong. For years I tried to figure out what this place was, cuz I certainly never went there. It was too beautiful, too perfect to be on earth. and then it hit me; this must be a part of heaven! now every time im having a bad day or feel down, i just think back to this dream, and how wonderful its going to be in heaven, with my amazing, heavenly father and his son jesus! everything will be perfect, and ill never again be bored (yay!). i cant wait till that day! (after thought: ive tried to paint this scene before, but it just NEVER looks right. its too great, too perfect to just draw, so i guess ill have to wait till i get there to go and see it everyday!!! =D)

The image that you put is so inspiring and realistic. It is really true that heaven is more than fabulous and amazing. The Heaven is unexplainable place to describe what is it. I can imagine my relatives who passed and is now living in an everlasting paradise. Since before they’re still alive my grand parents did not experienced comfortable life because we are living in a province and a pure ordinary people. But now I am really sure they’re so very happy. Thanks…

Hi Andrew,
Are you familiar with the works of the Victorian artist John Martin?

Thanks for putting these on the web.

20 Feb 2010 04:02 am Mark

Doesnt it says heaven will one day join the new earth in the bible therefore could it be that the heaven that we go to once we die is a temp place before the end of days when God will have a new heaven and earth?

Very good pictures!!
Those who intend to go to heaven to enjoy its beauty are ignorant of the truth and only accurate knowledge can lead these to eternal live( John 17:3)
Truly, some will partake of heavenly glory (Luke 12:32) but these are few and are going there for a particular purpose, then we have the great crowd, uncountable(John 10:16) number of people who will live forever on earth, where there will be no sickness, no pain, no death; the former things have passed away(Rev 21: 4).

I’ll look for you in heaven somewhere just beyond the gate.”
For those of you who don’t believe in heaven or want to blame God for all of the horrible things mankind has brought on himself, if we are wrong and there is no heaven, then we have lived a life filled with more peace even in the middle of horrible storms. If you are wrong however and there is a Lord who loves you and wants nothing more than to keep you from eternal suffering, remember it is your choice. I dare you to pray about it. Jesus said that if you look for me you will find me.
31 Jul 2010 10:07 pm Janet
That was beautiful. You just gave me some strength and peace that I very much needed today. Thank you.
20 Nov 2011 06:11 pm Vladimir (@Twitter)
@Janet → Thanks for sharing your testimony. I’m sorry for your loss. I especially like the very last sentence “Jesus said that if you look for me you will find me”.
This is so so true. The Bible states that whoever truly seeks God will find Him. I believe that the LORD would send out a missionary to the other side of the Globe if even one person in a remote place would seek His face.
I pray that your walk with the LORD is fruitful.

02 Aug 2010 07:08 am SANGIPRIYA
oh i have tears in my eyes just reading so many of the comments , especially janets testimony, i do belive that heaven is beyond any persons imagination, it is beyond beautiful, almost magical, there are fields and fields of colorful flowers, waterfalls so tall, fruit trees with fresh fruit all day long, no darkness , the list goes on, we all know that God is a God of beauty and whatever he touches becomes instantly beautiful,God is so merciful that after us dissapointing him so much , he just will not let us perish, what a wonderful Lord we serve, i too have experienced a great deal of loss in my family, the latest person to pass is my aunt, whenever i thought of her i would feel pain and sorrow, but when i think of Jesus i feel so much joy, peace and comfort because i know this is what she is experiencing , she is now restored to her former beautiful self the way the Lord intended and so is the rest of my loved ones, Thank you Jesus for the mountain underneath our feet (*.*)

heaven is a place of inner peace…but many tried to get there at this very moment but many fail, there is a wide chasm that hard for us to pass caused by the SIN that we have done and ONLY JESUS CHRIST is our Way to get there..He has the key to the gates of Heaven.Just believe and accept him as your Savior and Lord and He will direct you to Eternity.
12 Aug 2010 05:08 pm ptrjess
@SANGIPRIYA → While I would want everyone to go, the Bible teaches us that “Many are called but few are chosen”: http://www.gotquestions.org/many-called-few-chosen.html
@Claire → Thanks for sharing; appreciated, although I would advise against using the term “magical” to describe Heaven. This is what that term means:

Just trust in Jesus. After all, He told us not to worry anyway

I don’t want to refer him to these messages if they are inaccurate.

i love heavn wone day we will all be in heavan and what evr you dream about will come true like a musment park that will come true i love that place
21 Jan 2011 09:01 am nina
Michael → Firstly, yes, I know exactly the book you are referring to. Stay away from it and get out your Bible instead.
Not only does this book promote an anti-Biblical fickle view of Salvation, it probably helps to steer more people away from God by making Jesus look like some kind of unsympathetic mass-torturer.
The people who do turn to God after reading it probably only do so out of frenzied fear, rather than love for our Lord and Saviour.
The real “jewel” in this book is written right near the back and states:

The place in the pictures look great isn’t it? Well, personally I believe that Heaven a FAR FAR BETTER than those depicted in the pictures.
I believe that what we humankind imagine is but a fraction of the glory of the Real thing. I think we are all up to a beautiful surprise.
Let us all lookward to it.

Yes, I too believe that Heaven will be far better than our "human minds" can currently comprehend. For as the Bible states:

God is good. Sometimes I fight back the tears when I think about him too. It just makes me so happy what he has done for us. And Jesus Christ, sometimes the tears are sad tears. He sacrificed himself to save us from sin.
May the LORD be with you.

Jesus is LORD.

Mondays: guitar soccer practice Tuesdays: karate catechism Wensdays: Karate Thursdays: Soccer Practice Fridays: soccer games karate Saturday’s: soccer games karate Sundays: soccer games
And I have 3 sisters so thy makes the scedule even more cramped. What should I do? It’s not like we don’t go to church because we don’t want to, is it considered a Sin? I’m a catholic…

(after thought: ive tried to paint this scene before, but it just NEVER looks right. its too great, too perfect to just draw, so i guess ill have to wait till i get there to go and see it everyday!!! =D)

Since before they’re still alive my grand parents did not experienced comfortable life because we are living in a province and a pure ordinary people. But now I am really sure they’re so very happy.
